In church today for the first Sunday in a long time, I was able to focus on the here and now. My vacation had done what it was supposed to do. I was recharged and ready to face homeschooling and work. I cooked away the first week and a half but the last half of a week was filled with sewing (the last two dresses are complete), copying and planning for our second semester, and gearing up for my yearly photo album update.
During the last two weeks my brain slowly cleared and I realized that I needed to begin to spread my weekend tasks through out the week. I no longer have a full day on the weekend to cook, clean, and prepare for the next week.
I also came to the realization that I do not want to wait for retirement to begin to quilt. E is outgrowing her Princess quilt and D and I need one also. This year I am going to take little steps in this direction starting with making the kids quilted backpacks.
