E's smocked dress got its start years ago when after I made the girls' first smocked dresses. I thought that it would be nice to make one for myself. 5 years later I hadn't got the job done and E's dresses were getting too small and wearing out. As the fabric was just E's colors and already pleasted, I smocked it for her instead.
As is in the past, the dress has generous tucks to allow for growth. This dress will easily go from being worn with long sleeved t's to a cool summer dress.
Don't go looking for a plate for the smocking. I plotted it myself as I couldn't easily locate smocking plates in KC.
